Legal Clinic: Help unrepresented immigrants apply for a work permit hosted by Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project
Wednesday, November 03 2021
Join us virtually for a one-day legal clinic to help unrepresented immigrants apply for a Work Permit. Asylum seekers that apply for a work permit get better paying jobs, are able to attend school, and can afford an attorney for their deportation proceedings. Represented immigrants are nearly FIVE TIMES more likely to win their cases with an attorney on their side. This opportunity involves: -Client interaction (individual zoom breakout rooms); -Pre-clinic training and samples on how to complete the i-765, Employment Authorization Document application; -Direct supervision and guidance during the Clinic. -Interpreter services for non-Spanish speaking volunteers available.
For questions specific to this volunteer opportunity, please contact Carlos Valdes, Pro Bono Coordinator at CValdes@ccharities.org
