Perform legal research for pro bono legal services organization hosted by UCLA Law Library / SDVLP
Wednesday, November 03 2021
Reference librarian Rachel Green, who regularly works on pro bono cases with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program (SDVLP), will host this 2-hour research opportunity in which volunteers can help with legal research for SDVLP pro bono cases. All confidential or case-specific information will be withheld so that volunteers do not need to undergo conflict checks. Volunteers will be asked to complete SDVLP's volunteer registration form so that their volunteer hours can be reported. There will be a few research questions provided, with a Zoom breakout room for each research question (and several volunteers in each breakout room). Rachel will visit each room throughout the 2-hour activity to offer guidance or answer questions. Most research questions will involve the guardianship of minor children, e.g. custody issues, when to seal sensitive court documents, etc.
If you have questions regarding this volunteer opportunity, please contact Rachel Green, Reference Librarian at greenr@law.ucla.edu
