Assist Afghan Families Filing Humanitarian Parole Applications hosted by Pars Equality Center
Wednesday, November 03 2021
Our nonprofit provides legal and social services, predominantly to the Farsi, Dari, Armenian and Arabic speaking communities. Our organization has begun the Afghan Support Project. Volunteers will assist our legal department in the screening of individuals seeking to file Humanitarian Parole for persons in Afghanistan. Humanitarian Parole is a legal avenue for an individual to enter the US without a visa (basically temporary permission to enter). Our organization has received thousands of request for assistance in this project. Volunteers will conduct an intake and screen individuals requesting service for Humanitarian Parole to see if they qualify. Volunteers will simply call or speak with the individual, ask them questions based on our screening sheet, and fill in the answers. Alternatively, law students may participate in the preparation and filing of humanitarian parole packets under the supervision of our managing attorney.
