Join us for a family-friendly walk through Lower Bidwell Park as we search for local woodpecker species and learn about their unique adaptations, nesting habits, and drumming sounds. Great for kids and bird-loving families alike. Binoculars encouraged! Meet at the Chico Creek Nature Center, 1968 E. 8th Street Under the Coastal Redwood Grove.
Oscar Rodriguez is a Naturalist Instructor with Chico Area Recreation & Park District and an independent environmental educator based in Chico, California. Passionate about connecting people with the natural world, Oscar leads guided hikes, birdwatching outings, and outdoor education programs throughout the Sacramento Valley. His work focuses on fostering curiosity about local ecology, native wildlife, and the unique landscapes of the region.
