About

If you have reached this site, then congratulations! This means that you intend to submit your service hours, which is an important part of being an active member of National Honor Society!

The National Honor Society is a selective club, and the only group at MSHS that requires students to submit an application. In order to apply a person must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher and the required community service hours. This is the only requirement for applying, but if a member would like to continue to be considered "active" they have more obligations throughout the year. They must complete at least 40 hours of community service (with no more than 12 from a specific organization), pay their one-time club fee, and must attend every monthly meeting on the first Friday of each month during school.

There are also many benefits that come from fulfilling the responsibilities of being an NHS member, including scholarship, service, leadership, and character, which are also the four pillars of this club. Being a member of National Honor Society often plays a significant role in a student's college application. Colleges are looking for young men and women who show a commitment to their grades, as well as to their community. Because NHS is such a recognized organization, its members are viewed with high credibility. In addition, these students are presented a wide range of service opportunities that might otherwise never reach them, and even have the potential of receiving a college scholarship.

We hope that each member understands the significance of this of this club and the impact that it can make on one's academic future. The NHS team looks forward to inducting their new members!
