Rose Bowl Riders

RBR will hold its Semi-Annual Work Day on November 4th. We’ll begin our work day at 8:00 am in the Clubhouse with a breakfast spread including fresh coffee. Our Director of Grounds will have several projects, big and small, for us to work on. We’ll stop around 1:00 pm to have lunch in the picnic area compliments of RBR. It’s a good idea to bring gloves and some tools if you can. Remember to label anything you bring to ensure that you’ll get it back!

PLEASE NOTE: The event runs from 8 am to 1 pm, but no one is expected to work the entire 5 hours (unless you choose to). There are many jobs, big and small, so please come and pitch in when and where you can--it all makes a difference!

Here's a list of some of the jobs we plan to tackle on Saturday:

Clubhouse:
1. Clean a\c filter in clubhouse
2. Clean out refrigerator
3. Clean leaves off clubhouse roof and valleys and clean gutters
4. Make sure cover over clubhouse outdoor sink is on and works properly to keep leaves and bird poop out

Upper Level:
5. Build compost area enclosure (Anna)
6. Rake and trim around new upper barn (Ashley)
7. Move extra pipe panels by new barn to behind historic barn tractor stall (Ashley)
8. Rake behind historic barn (Ashley)

Lower Level:
9. Prep oak barrels for planting (drill drainage holes, paint w/ clear coat, line w/ trash bags) and place around the property (Ariel)
10. Maintain bridle path along middle barn (Ariel)
11. Rake aisles, around all stalls (Ariel)
12. Maintain garden area along middle barn (east fence line) (Ariel or Anna)
13. Secure pergola over barn sink (needs to be attached/anchored to barn) (Ariel)
14. Move trail equipment by new upper barn to lower arena (Ann, Ariel, or Anna)
15. Selectively prune back native shrubs on the big slope (Anna)

Both Levels:
16. Trim up branches of trees hanging low over arenas or riding trails. (Anna)
17. Pick up rocks in arenas
