Floatilla

Saturday, June 11 2016

"Floatilla" is a Baltimore Harbor event with a large gathering of paddlers in kayaks, canoes and other human-powered craft often structured as a rally to raise awareness of important issues. The purpose: show support for cleaning up this incredible environmental and recreational resource. This is all part of the Waterfront Partnership’s Swimmable/Fishable 2020 campaign, and critical for drawing attention to our terribly-treated waterways. PRIMARY DUTIES: include serving as safety support for any on-water injuries or distress (there will be marine rescue, so really just notification and stabilization), provide emergency hydration to zone paddlers, and enjoy the day. BRC VOLUNTEERS: We are offering 6 of our launches to provide safety support for this event, & need 6 volunteer Launch Drivers (Captains) plus 6 volunteer Co-Captains - 12 total (2 per launch).
