Bair Island Fall Festival
Bair Island Aquatic Center (BIAC), San Mateo
Race Times: 8:30AM-2:30PM
Volunteer Times: 6:30AM-3:30PM
Directions from northbound Hwy 101:
Exit Kehoe Ave (after and north of highway 92)
Proceed east on Kehoe to the 3rd stop sign, Roberta Ave
Right onto Roberta Drive
Left onto Seal
Parkside Aquatic Park (launch site) is located on Seal
Parking:
There is NO parking in Parkside Aquatic Park for anything except boat trailers.
For hospitality car: You will be allow to drive your vehicle inside the venue only to unload and then you will require to park you car on the street or at the additional parking sites.
Single Cars -- On-street parking is very limited. Please respect the residential neighborhood surrounding the park by not blocking driveways or parking too close to fire hydrants.
Limited additional parking will be available at Bayside School 2025 Kehoe Avenue, the Marina Public Library on 1530 Susan Court, and The Fish Market 1855 South Norfolk. Volunteers will direct participants to these lots.
Drive hospitality trailer to regatta - must have a vehicle that can tow a trailer with a trailer hitch.
Purchase supplies (from provided shopping list) at Costco during the week before the event. Note the list will be different/longer this year. Please be prepared to front the cost of the shop and be reimbursed. Deliver food to regatta or coordinate to have it go up with the trailer.
Load the trailer at the boathouse. In the shed there is a laminated instruction sheet of what to pack. Items include storage bins, tables, easy-ups, etc. Time is flexible.
Unload the trailer at the site and set up the tent, signs, equipment, etc.
Pick up 2 containers of coffee, 2 containers of hot water (for hot cocoa, oatmeal & tea) and 2 large bags of ice on the way to the regatta
One volunteer MUST have experience working regattas and have a good handle on what needs to be done to run a smooth regatta. The second may be a new parent to shadow the experienced parent.
Prep breakfast/snacks and oversee fueling our athletes for the morning.
(Change from last year: we are prepping our own food rather than picking it up from a restaurant). Clean up breakfast afterwards.

Take home all dirty dishes, wash them, and return them to the boathouse the following practice.
Thoroughly clean up everything. Break down tables, tents, etc. Load trailer. (Nothing dirty may be put in the trailer, please).

Unload trailer contents back to the shed on Sunday. Time is flexible.
