Discover Oregon's Native Heritage Trees – Join Us for a Walking Tour!

Explore the natural beauty and history of our community on a Heritage Tree Tour through the Arbor Lodge neighborhood on Saturday, November 8th from 10am-12pm. This guided outdoor walking tour will showcase three magnificent Oregon native heritage trees, including a stunning bigleaf maple, an Oregon myrtle, and a towering Ponderosa pine. Learn about the botanical characteristics, cultural significance, and unique stories behind these living landmarks as we stroll through the neighborhood.

The tour is 1 mile and will last about 2 hours, with plenty of time to admire each tree, ask questions, and connect with fellow nature enthusiasts. We'll meet at Arbor Lodge Park (N Delaware Ave & N Bryant St) and explore the area on an easy, accessible walking route suitable for all experience levels. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. We will tour rain or shine.

Portland Parks & Recreation Urban Forestry's mission is to manage and ensure Portland's urban forest infrastructure for current and future generations. Portland’s urban forest consists of 220,000 street trees, 1.2 million park trees, and innumerable private property trees. Urban Forestry is involved in managing or regulating all of these trees to differing degrees. Urban Forestry staff issue permits for planting, pruning, and removal of all public and some private trees and are on call 24/7 to respond to tree emergencies.
