Food Sort for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano
Hosted by Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California (OPSC)
In Celebration of National DO Day (Week) of Service at TUCOM-CA
As part of TUCOM-CA’s participation in National DO Day (Week) of Service (NDODS), the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California (OPSC) invites you to join a hands-on volunteer event supporting the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, an organization committed to combating food insecurity in our community.
Volunteers will assist in the warehouse by sorting and boxing food donations and fresh produce. Working as a team, volunteers will check food for quality, sort items by category, and pack them for distribution in the warehouse sorting areas. This work plays a vital role in ensuring that healthy, nourishing food reaches those who need it most.
Please note that this position requires standing for extended periods and may involve lifting boxes weighing up to 35 pounds. All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes for safety.
National DO Day of Service is a nationwide initiative organized through the Translating Osteopathic Understanding into Community Health (TOUCH) program by the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP) in collaboration with AACOM. At TUCOM-CA, this week of service is coordinated by COMSEC VP of Community Outreach and features events hosted by student clubs and organizations.
Special thanks to OPSC for organizing and leading this event as part of our campus-wide celebration of osteopathic service.
Join us in supporting food justice and community wellness.
For any questions, feel free to contact Ravinder Singh, COMSEC VP of Community Outreach at tucom.vpcommunityoutreach@tu.edu.
