Second Saturday RIP at Grandma’s Creek Park
Saturday, January 10 2026
Help get rid of the invasive plants in Grandma’s Creek Park, an arm of Glencarlyn Park that extends into the Barcroft neighborhood in South Arlington. The event is held monthly on the second Saturday, except for July and August. Our work to remove invasive plants has moved to the west side of the park, where 6th St S--off of S Abingdon St--dead ends at the park. The address nearest to the park where we will meet is 4612 6th St S. Dress warmly and be sure to cover wrists and ankles to protect against poison ivy. Bring drinking water if you want it. The terrain is uneven, and there are lots of dead tree limbs and brambles, so sturdy shoes are important. We will have tools and lightweight gloves provided by Arlington County DPR, but please bring your favorites if you have them. If you have any questions, please call or text Deborah Wood at 703 973-7424. I hope to see some of you there! Thank you
