Dominion HIlls (Arlington) Invasive Pull

Friday, June 20 2025

Plenty of work to go around this month! In addition to the familiar eyesores like mile-a-minute, porcelain, etc., we have some new invasives waiting for us like bittersweet nightshade, Chinese yam, and golden rain tree. Tree cages need to be cleared out from one end of the trail to the other, among other jobs. There's enough work for an army, so we're recruiting!
Work sessions will take place on Friday, June 20 from 10:00-12:00 and on Saturday from 1:00-3:00. (Signup link below.) Gather next to the address 1000 Patrick Henry Dr., Arlington, and look for the "VOLUNTEERS" sign by the curb. Plenty of street parking.
Full disclosure: We are seeing an increase in poison ivy, so wear sturdy shoes, socks, long pants, and long sleeves. (Sorry, I know the forecast is for warm temps, so hopefully you can find some long but lightweight garments.) We will have Ivy-X wipes, as well as soap and water on site.
In addition, wear a hat and bring water for yourself. Bring your own gloves and hand tools, if you have them. We will have gloves and tools to share, and we will have light (but good) snacks.

10:00am - 12:00pm
