Farmshed Fundraiser- Product Unload and Sorting

Monday, November 18 2019

Help unload and count the items as they are delivered by farmers and producers on Monday, November 18th at Farmshed in Stevens Point.
1220 Briggs Ct, Stevens Point, WI 54481

Then:
Volunteers will pack products for each student who participated in the fundraiser. This process usually takes a few hours to complete. These must be adult volunteers, as attention to detail is important to distinguish between items that are very similar.

We recommend organizing your orders alphabetically by student last name. It is also nice to have a small number of boxes available for students with large orders.
Meat and cheese need to be kept cold until time of pick up. Coolers will be available. Meat and cheese can be put in coolers during pick-up time for easy access (these items are added to the bags once a family comes to pick up).

Farmshed will provide a word document version of each family’s order, with one student per page. These are a lot easier to read than the green order forms, which makes for easier packing. Ask your office to print this for you. Pack all orders prior to your scheduled pick up time so that they are ready to go when people arrive, and to insure you have all of the products you need! Here is an overview of what your packing
volunteers will do:
● Each volunteer can grab 1 sheet (1 student order per page)
● They can then start filling a paper bag or box with each item listed on the sheet
● WATCH carefully for different types of products (ex light vs dark roast coffee)
● Meat and Cheese should be kept cold until time of pick up, so if a student has
any meat or cheese ordered, HIGHLIGHT those on the sheet so that you know
what needs to be added at time of pick up
o During your pick-ups, keep the meat and cheese in a cooler or a nearby
fridge. Add these products to the bags ONLY once the family is on-site to
pick up their order.

● Once an order is filled, arrange the bags/boxes alphabetically by last name
● Staple the order sheet to each bag or box, along with the original order form (or
a copy, depending on what your organization wants to keep for their records).

Each student will need a copy of their form to be able to distribute to those who
ordered from them.

At time of pick up, check each bag or box to make sure all products are included. Add
any items that have been kept refrigerated or frozen (cheese and meat).
