Designing a System of Belonging at Home: Using the Sims Framework to Strengthen Relationships, Advocacy, and Outcomes for Boys
Thursday, February 18 2027
Parents are often given advice about managing behavior, improving communication, or increasing motivation. This session takes a different approach. Using the Sims Framework, participants will explore how beliefs, structures, and daily practices shape a young person's sense of belonging, predictability, identity, and success.
Through reflection and practical application, parents will learn how family systems influence outcomes and how intentional alignment between what we believe, how we organize family life, and what we do every day can strengthen relationships and support healthy development. Participants will also explore how to become stronger advocates for their sons within schools, youth-serving organizations, and other systems that shape opportunity.
This session is particularly relevant for parents, caregivers, mentors, and family members who want to better understand and support boys and young men in today's increasingly complex social and educational environments.
