About

Silverwood Park is a more than 300-acre farm in southeast Dane County, and part of the County Parks system. The park includes more than 230 acres of tillable land, 60 acres of forest, and more than ½ mile of shoreline on Rice Lake. All tillable land is currently managed by the Friends’ Group, while the forest is managed by Dane County with the cooperation of the Friend’s Group.

Silverwood Park is dedicated to sustainable agriculture education and is being developed to provide programs that serve the general public, K-12 students, and new farmers and agricultural job trainees.

Mission Statement
Silverwood Park educates the public on the broad and diverse aspects of Wisconsin agriculture – past, present and future.  The park celebrates the rich cultural history of agriculture in Dane County as well as demonstrating innovative agricultural practices and land stewardship that sustains the land for future generations.
