Classical Enhancement: Socrates Night
Monday, September 21 2026
Classical Enhancement Night is a school-wide event designed to partner with parents by addressing felt needs and sharing practical tools for families at different stages of their MCA journey.
There will be four separate offerings mostly based on grade level available for MCA families. We encourage families to attend the vision cast that most pertains to their needs.
Families with students in more than one grade level or with multiple interests can choose which session(s) best addresses their family's needs. If both parents come, they can split up and attend two meetings.
MCA will give 1 service hour per parent who attends Classical Enhancement Night!
NEW STUDENT TOWNHALL 7th Grade and New Students
| Study Hall | Mockingbird Building
Jared Nelson and Andy Zinkgraf will share practical advice about revisions, checking grades, communicating with tutors, etc. as you help your student find their groove at this year at MCA.
HIGH SCHOOL PROFILE 8th Grade
| Room A1 | Mockingbird Building
Did you know that high school begins in 8th grade at MCA? Andy Zinkgraf will equip parents and students with strategic insight about the different opportunities MCA offers and what the outcomes look like on a high school transcript.
ENGAGING MINDS AMIDST THE AGE OF A.I. 9th–10th Grade + All Grades
| Room A5 | Mockingbird Building
A.I. presents parents and educators with a difficult tension: we do not want students to abdicate their thinking or surrender their unique voice to A.I., yet we also cannot ignore an increasingly powerful tool that is rapidly becoming essential in the modern world. How do we prepare students to use A.I. without allowing A.I. to replace the very thinking, learning, and character formation we are trying to cultivate? In this session, Brandon Shuman will share MCA’s approach to A.I. and offer practical ways parents and tutors can partner together to protect student thinking, cultivate their voice, and teach them to use A.I. wisely.
LAUNCH AND LEGACY 11th–12th Grade
| Library
Stephanie Goeke will empower parents with practical wisdom about how to finish MCA well and prepare for what's next. Topics will include navigating the junior year, applying to college, and encouraging your senior as he/she prepares for their Thesis.
