Invasive Removal and Habitat Restoration at Larus Park
Friday, January 09 2026
Join us at Larus Park for our first collaborative event between RTS and the Friends of Larus Park! Despite its size (106 acres) Larus is a bit of a hidden gem. The land was donated to the city in the 70s and only opened to the public in 2006, though it remained relatively unknown until covid. Parts of the park are under heavy invasive pressure while other parts are surprisingly untroubled.
Bring your own gloves and water, and hand pruners if possible. We will be focusing on invasive vines and creating buffer zones around trees.
UPDATED PARKING/MEETUP LOCATION: Park at the Beechmont entrance (North Trailhead). There is plenty of street parking in addition to a few designated spots for the park.
