White Pony Express

Saturday, October 11 2025

White Pony Express was founded in 2013 as a volunteer-powered food recovery program that delivers surplus, high-quality foods to organizations that serve people in need. White Pony Express staff and volunteers pick up high-quality surplus food from grocery stores, restaurants, and farmers markets. Volunteers then sort food according to the specific needs and preferences of the nonprofits we are serving that day. Curated food is typically sorted and delivered within hours. Deliveries are always free of charge and based on the preferences of the 98 nonprofit recipient agencies within the county.

This is a 9th grade Food Security Service Activity. Transportation will depart campus by 12:15pm and return by 3:45pm, with a BART stop in Walnut Creek.
