Bounty Garden
Saturday, April 26 2025
The Bounty Garden grows fresh produce that is donated to local food banks for food-insecure people in Contra Costa County. It was created by Athenian alum Amelia Abramson ’12 and her mother, Heidi. Amelia came up with the idea for the garden when she was an Athenian student. She worked for two years getting the approval of the City of Danville to create the garden in Hap Magee Park. Athenian students have been helping at the garden since its founding. In 2022, the Bounty Garden expanded to add 11 new raised beds.
Come with water and in clothes that can get dirty. Closed-toe shoes are required. We will be spreading mulch along paths and helping to weed for the Spring/Summer growing seasons.
Because this project is in Danville, there are no BART shuttles available.
