Black Family Wellness Expo – Volunteer Sign Up
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Black Family Wellness Expo! Volunteers are essential to making this event welcoming, organized, and impactful. There are multiple roles available, including registration and greeting, vendor support, workshop assistance, health screening flow, youth activity areas, hospitality, social media, and setup/cleanup.
Please review the available opportunities and select one primary role and shift. If additional coverage is needed, you may sign up for more than one shift after initial placements are filled.
A brief orientation and instructions will be provided at the start of each shift, and all materials will be prepared in advance.
We ask that volunteers arrive approximately 10 minutes before their scheduled shift to allow for check-in and role overview.
Your time and service help ensure families in our community have access to valuable resources, information, and support. We truly appreciate your willingness to serve!
If you have questions about roles or scheduling, please contact Link Erica directly.
Volunteers will assist with event setup including tables, chairs, signage, vendor areas, registration stations, and activity spaces. Some lifting and walking will be involved.
Volunteers will greet guests, assist with check-in, distribute programs/materials, and help direct attendees to screenings, vendors, and workshops. This role requires a warm and welcoming personality.
Volunteers will help vendors locate their tables, assist with unloading, provide event information, check on vendor needs during the event, and coordinate vendor lunch distribution.
Volunteers will assist children with activities and crafts, help monitor the area, and support the children’s book giveaway. This is an active, family-focused area.
Volunteers will engage with youth and families, share information about HBCUs, and help create a welcoming and encouraging college-awareness environment.
Volunteers will staff the Health & Human Services facet table and engage with families about available health and wellness resources. Responsibilities include greeting attendees, sharing educational materials, answering general questions, and directing community members to appropriate vendors, screenings, and services within the expo.
This table serves as an information and guidance point to help families understand the resources available to them and how to access support in our community.
Volunteers will help manage lines, direct guests to screening areas, assist with traffic flow, and help maintain organization and privacy in screening spaces. Volunteers do not perform screenings.
Floaters provide general support throughout the event, cover volunteer breaks, run errands, and assist where needed.
Volunteers will take photos and short videos, capture vendor and activity moments, and submit media to the Link Erica for promotion and documentation.
Volunteers will assist with volunteer/vendor meals, speaker hospitality, snack and water stations, and checking on guest needs throughout the event.
