Sac River MTB Trail Maintenance Workday

Sunday, September 15 2024

Hey everyone,
We have an exciting trail workday coming up this Sunday Sep. 15th at Sac River MTB Trails, and we would love for you all to join us! It's a great opportunity to get outdoors, give back to our community, and help get our trails back in shape. We’ll have four teams out covering different areas of the trails. Here’s what we need and how we’ll manage the day:

8:00am - 10:00am
Team 1
Team 1 will cover a portion of the East Blue Loop. This section needs it the most so this will be the top priority. It needs a team of at least three people: - Weed eater person - Saw operator to prune larger branches - One or two ground helpers that will throw limbs, rocks and other debris from the trail and into the woods This group can drive up the powerline easement and park there. The tools will be staged for them. You can click on the following Strava link to see the area where Team 1 will be working: https://www.strava.com/routes/3266415039462967388

Team 2
Team 2 will be working on a section of the Green Loop and it will need: - One weed eater person - A hand saw person - A ground clearer with a set of loppers This group can park up on the powerline easement as well and will need to hike to the start of the section, which will be at the green/blue hub where the bikes are hanging from trees. The tools and weed eater will be staged there. This segment ends at the silo hub, so you’ll need to carry your equipment back to the parking area on the powerline. This group will have the most hiking to do. You can view the area Team 2 will be working on by clicking on the following Strava link: https://www.strava.com/routes/3266158858375275686

The equipment will be staged there. When they are done with the section they can drop the equipment off at the end which is at the creek crossing or hike it back to the powerline staging area. There will be a lot of hiking for this group as well. You can click on the following Strava link to see the area Team 3 will be working on: https://www.strava.com/routes/3266158954954090928
