Social Justice Forum
Saturday, September 18 2021
Please join us for an engaging and enlightening conversation on federal mandatory minimums and how the criminal justice system affects our communities.
Meet individuals on both sides of the spectrum, a federal prosecutor whose role is to follow federal sentencing guidelines or mandatory minimums for specific crimes and a formerly incarcerated woman turned activist who was sentenced under the mandatory minimum sentencing guidelines.
This forum will pull back the veil of terms we hear so often: "mandatory minimums, parole, prosecutorial discretion..."
The panelists are Kemba Smith, "Activist, Survivor" and Assistant United States Attorney Charles Watkins, Jr.
