National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) College Fair at the Georgia International Convention Center

Sunday, March 19 2017

Next Step Education is a partner of TEO that will be bringing college-bound students to the NACAC college fair. The NACAC is hosting a national fair at the Georgia International Conventional Center off Camp Creek Parkway. The attendance is approximately 5,000 students. There will be representation from the HBCU community. 15-20 members are being asked to serve one of two shifts to chaperone groups of students at the fair ensuring that they speak to colleges representatives and collect admissions packets and other related materials (and stay together). Members will also ensure that students complete a pre and post fair survey.

Next Step Education will be taking two bus loads at 12 PM and 1 PM from the Riverdale Center to the GICC. Members are being asked to meet at the Riverdale Center (for both shifts at least 30 mins prior to leave time) to become acquainted with their group of students and to assist with administering the pre-survey prior to traveling to go to the GICC. This is the Next Steps Education Coordinator's request. Members can ride the bus to the GICC or drive their own vehicles after meeting the kids.

If you are unable to meet at the Riverdale Center, please meet at the GICC at 12pm in the lobby, regardless of shift. When meeting at GICC, you can chaperone the 1st or 2nd shift of kids. We can wait there until the Next Step Education coordinator, Brannon Jones, arrives with the kids. Please let me know if you have any questions (harris.t.michelle@gmail.com).
