YLI / AKAdettes April Session: Expressing Your Best Self (Life Skills Experience)

Join us for our April YLI / AKAdettes session as we continue Module 2: Expressing Your Best Self in Everyday Life (Life Skills Experience).


During this interactive and engaging session, the young ladies will participate in activities designed to build confidence, communication skills, and financial awareness through hands-on learning and self-expression.


Session Highlights:

The girls will engage in:

--Public Speaking Workshop

--Confidence-building exercises

--“One-Minute Glow-Up” icebreaker

--Guided speaking activity led by Soror Brittany

--Dress for Success Virtual Workshop: 

1) Understanding appropriate attire for different settings (interview, school, social events, etc.).

2) Learning the importance of first impressions and personal presentation.


Financial Basics Activity

--Needs vs. Wants discussion

--Interactive budgeting game using real-life scenarios

--Introduction to smart spending and financial decision-making


Through these activities, AKAdettes will develop practical life skills that support independence, leadership, and personal growth, while gaining confidence in expressing their best selves in everyday situations.
