Friends of the Black Run Preserve

ALL HANDS ON DECK... We need 20-30 volunteers to help out at Black Run Preserve!

The projects are as follows:
1. Building a parking lot at the Black Trail
2. Install new signs
3. Build catwalks in muddy areas nearby

Day: Sunday, July 31, 2016
Time: 8am to 11am
Place: Meet us at the Black Trail at the Black Run Preserve

Please come out and give us a hand. Help us build an amazing parking lot at the Black Trail, install new signs about the preserve, and make trails more accessible with new catwalks!

Additional Project Details:

The parking area at the start of the black trail was cleared out by the township (stumps, 1 tree). We'd like to do a final cleaning of glass and sharp rocks as well as put 6x6s in the ground horizontally (staked with rebar) to represent parking spots. Materials and delivery seem to be covered, but we need bodies with vehicles to actually park the area full so that we know where to best place and stake the wood.

There are also some smaller projects planned for the 31st that need volunteers such as old sign removal and installation of a new sign at the entrance of the green trail parking lot.
