The Job Foundation

The Church Row Coalition is sponsoring FREE mental health training at our church Thursday Nov. 9 and 16 from 4 - 8 p.m. This is especially designed for those working with youth and is open to the members of the Coalition Churches. Friends at Church Row has graciously offered to include mentors of The Job Foundation in on this training! **Space is limited to 20. Please let us know ASAP if you are interested!

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) USA is an 8 hour public education program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.

WHO: The first 20 participants to sign up

WHAT: FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

WHEN: Thursday, November 9th AND Thursday, November 16th --4:00-8:00pm each night (You must attend the entire 8-hr training to earn certification).

WHERE: First United Methodist Church in Waterloo (614 Randolph Street)

WHY: This is great information! Whether you currently work with young people, have relatives that are adolescents, have young children of your own, or move around our community where you see young people (church, grocery store, library, fitness center, park, etc.).
