United Kids SOLFul is a free, summer day camp for educationally at-risk elementary students (entering grades 1st - 8th) that provides academic and creative activities to help close the learning gap during the summer. Both ADULT and YOUTH volunteers are needed to assist with camp activities including art, sports, group activities, cooking, and more.

***OC United will accept volunteers who can work 2-3 days per week during the camp for a total of 8 or more shifts.
However, it would be great if you can volunteer every day. The time commitment requested of the volunteers is meant to provide some stability and continuity for the student campers attending the summer camp.***

Both morning and afternoon shifts are available on each day of the camp. Volunteers may mix and match the shifts for signup as long as they each sign up for 8 or more shifts between 6/30 and 7/18, and work at least 2 shifts per week. Please sign up for no more than 1 shift per day.

Hour log: 5.5 hours per shift if you arrive on time for your shift.

Please follow the steps below to register:
Step 1. Sign up on Track it Forward for each of the shifts you plan to work for.
Step 2. If you are new to Solful, please fill out a volunteer application BY JUNE 13TH at https://ocunited.org/volunteerapp/ and follow the application process. (If you submit a volunteer application, you will be contacted for a Zoom interview.)
Step 3: Sign up for the Mandatory Training Session on JUNE 18, 2025 from 5p to 8p on Track it Forward. There is a recorded Zoom video option if you can't attend in-person. You will receive volunteer hours for attending the training session.

Snack will be provided at the camp to the youth volunteers. Please bring your own water.
Dress Code: SLOBs T-Shirt & closed-toe shoes

Note: If you have submitted a volunteer application to OC United in the past and were approved to volunteer for the Solful camp, then you do not need to go through the volunteer application process again this year. Please email Debbie at DebbieHerdrich@gmail.com by June 13, 2025 if your have completed a volunteer application and an interview in the past.

Cancellation guideline: Working with at risk youth in this program requires a high level of commitment. Last minute cancellations within 3 days before the camp date is only permitted in case of emergency. Thanks for your understanding.
