Cycle Oregon Day 2
Tuesday, September 10 2019
We'll be working with Cycle Oregon on the Tumalo Leg of the "Classic", a 7-day ride through the Central Oregon Cascades. With the exception of the Rest Stop Welcome Center, jobs are at Tumalo State Park. Students are welcome and encouraged to help; in order to be counted as a volunteer; students should be at least in middle school due to the physical work associated with many of the jobs. Younger students are welcome at the finish line! Bring friends and family along to volunteer - their hours will count toward your annual 40!
Work with Cycle Oregon's service provider "ZeroHero" to run bags of garbage, recycling and compost from our collection tents to the designated disposal area. ATV's with trailers are helpful for this task.
Help set-up, serve food and clean up. This involves unloading a truck, setting up 10x10 tents, tables and beverage troughs. There will also be some food preparation: washing fruit, putting spreads on breads and making individual servings of bulk items. 16 and older please. This job does require some heavy lifting. The rest stop is located at the Cascade Lakes Ranger Station: 18500 Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway, Bend, OR 97702
Take down the 100 8' tables and 1000 chairs that were in place for meals
