Emancipation Day Event

Friday, August 21 2020

Emancipation Day marks a special day for Africans to commemorate the abolition of slavery. The focus will be on racism towards Black people in this chilly climate that we are in. We will take the Slavery Abolition Act and apply it to current-day movements for Black liberation in Canada. Despite the abolition of slavery, many social conditions exist which prevent full emancipation from, and abolishment of racism against Black Canadians.
