STEM Center in Use

The presenter’s name is Leslie Weller, she is a Mechanical Engineering Manager with Lockheed Martin Space based in Louisiana. She joined LM in 2019 and has great knowledge/background with Ultra High Temperature (UHT) Materials for Hypersonics and Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) and supports those sectors as a subject matter expert (SME).

The presentation that Leslie has put together will cover these topics on Thermal Protection Systems and high temperature materials derived from UNCLASSIFIED open sources, primarily NASA. It will discuss sources of heat, how heat transfers and conducts through materials, and how we use certain materials to protect our systems all while keeping it lightweight, cost effective, and strong.

Volunteers requested to be in tour zones before and after the virtural talk event in the STEM Center to talk with guests.
