Fourth grade field trip to the San Francisco Zoo

Thursday, April 12 2018

This field trip is part of a larger project the students are doing to become an animal expert on one of the animals at the zoo. Students have been researching how their animal is uniquely designed to survive in its habitat, what its niche is within the greater biome, along with what threats it faces in the wild and much more! While at the zoo students will visit their animal and present their research while making a video at the same time. (Think Steve Irwin or Jack Hanna, but at a fourth grade level.) Back at the school, the students will upload their videos to the cloud and use video editing tools to edit their segment. With my help, all the student video segments will become a class movie. On a future Friday assembly (TBD), we will then have a “red carpet premiere” of the movie to the entire school.

Chaperones are needed to help transport up to and from the zoo and help students navigate the zoo while making their presentations and filming.

Note: In the Message section of this form, please specify how many children your car can safely accommodate with seatbelts.
