5th Grade Año Nuevo Field Trip

Driver/chaperones to transport 36 children to and from Año Nuevo for a 2.5 hour, 3-mile walk over uneven terrain to observe the elephant seals. We have a staggered walks (10:45, 11:00, 11:15). Chaperones will supervise students around Visitor’s Center and on walk. Be prepared for windy, rainy conditions, as well as muddy trails. Layered clothing, sturdy shoes, and hooded rain gear are recommended. Umbrellas are not allowed. Bring bottled water for drinking as there is none available during the walk. If sunny, bring sunscreen, hat, binoculars. A substantial snack or extra sandwich is recommended to eat before the guided tour since we’ll hike from 11:00-1:30 and no food is allowed on the trails.

Drive to/from Ano Nuevo and chaperone kids on walk and at visitor center.
