World Relief Sacramento

Come spend time getting to know and mentor young female Afghan refugees living in our community. You will have an opportunity to befriend and engage with them while helping them navigate and understand what it means to be a young woman in America. Our goal is to provide a safe place for the young women to come and be in community with each other as well as volunteers from the receiving community, to help them build confidence, process through some of the barriers to integration and to have fun during summer break. Looking for female volunteers who are comfortable and excited to engage with their peers who may speak little English and come from different cultural and religious backgrounds. This will be held at an apartment in North Highlands about 5 minutes from our World Relief Office. Exact location will be provided upon request.
