Camp Hopewell
24 County Road 231
Oxford, MS
Children need a place where they can embrace grief, understand that they are not alone, and begin their journey through the healing process toward peace. The program at Camp Good Hope provides a supportive, nurturing environment where children can be surrounded by others who have experienced similar loss.
The camp is a 1.5-day, overnight experience open to ages 6-17 (each child MUST be accompanied by an adult family member or guardian). Campers and their guardians will stay in cabins at the Camp Hopewell campus, located in Oxford, Mississippi. Lodging, as well as all meals and activities, will be provided free of charge. The campers are placed in age-appropriate groups where they meet for activities, such as arts and crafts, ropes course, story time, kayaking, zip lines, nature walks, music and bonfires. Adults may participate in group activities that meet simultaneously. The program provides families a safe place to help them integrate love, life, and loss into their daily lives.
There will be no counseling sessions as Camp Good Hope - the objective of this program is to HAVE FUN!
Volunteers will be assisting with group activities and are welcome to stay in one of the cabins that is reserved.
