Tuesday, September 15 2015

We can only take 15. Please sign up ASAP. Preference will be given to upperclassmen.

In an effort to engage Colorado students in civics education by involving some of the people Aaron has been fortunate to meet via his nonpartisan public affairs television program (“The Aaron Harber Show TM” --- HarberTV.com) and whose leadership, ethics, and public service have impressed him., we are scheduling an evening event in Denver on Tuesday, September 15th. We would like to invite your students to attend at no charge.

One of the most impressive guests Aaron has had on his show is Robert S. Mueller, III., the second-longest serving Director in the history of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Mueller began his tenure as FBI Director just one week before September 11, 2001, and retired recently.

As a personal favor to Aaron, Mr. Mueller has agreed to come to Colorado and do an event where we would record a program on stage for television broadcast with an audience whose members could ask questions. With his expertise in the Cyber World, we thought Mr. Mueller could address issues highly relevant to young people today. We also expect to invite law enforcement officials and members of the business community. We expect to make the television programs we produce available at no charge to all High Schools in Colorado.

We have broadcast commitments from (1) K3 Colorado (KCDO-TV on Channel 3 in Denver and northeastern Colorado over-the-air [i.e., by antenna] as well as Channel 3 on DirecTV. DISH Network, COMCAST, et cetera), (2) ION Television statewide (KPXC-TV), and (3) COMCAST Entertainment Television statewide (CET). We also will have it on COMCAST’s free 24/7 Xfinity on Demand service statewide so viewers can watch the program whenever they want.

Here is a short biography of Mr. Mueller from the FBI’s Website. It is very modest, as is Director Mueller, because it leaves out many of his extraordinary accomplishments and some of the public and private positions he took, to protect Americans, sometimes at the risk of losing his job. One extraordinary example is when Director Mueller, along with then Acting Attorney General James Comey (who succeeded him as the Director of the F.B.I.), went to the White House to offer his resignation if the White House overruled a Department of Justice conclusion regarding domestic wiretapping. Mr. Mueller’s willingness to sacrifice his job and possibly his career in order to protect the U.S. Constitution stands as a great example for Americans of all ages today.
