Wreaths across America is in LOngmont!
We have a new date for marking graves at Mountain View Cemetery - Friday, December 13th starting at 1:00 PM.

If you can make it, please arrive at 1:00 PM on Friday and meet me by the main office off 11th Avenue.

The high on Friday is 50, the low is 25 so please dress accordingly and wear shoes that are comfortable to walk in. There is a very small parking lot for the cemetery by the main office, and parking is available on the cemetery roads. Just pull off to the side so another vehicle can get by if needed. There is also street parking nearby in neighborhoods. Please do not park in the Walgreens parking lot and be conscious not to block Fire Station 1. I have also attached a PDF of the cemetery map. Please print off one per person (if possible) and bring with you so you'll have a better idea of blocks & sections.

I will bring the green marking flags for everyone. We have 1,097 graves to mark.

The rest of the veteran graves will be marked at random. I will have a list of veterans buried at Mountain View to go off of since all veterans are not in one area.

I would love 20+ volunteers for this, so please come if you can! Since we had to change the date of marking, I only have 3 confirmed volunteers at this point including myself. The more volunteers, the better! The cemetery is 40+ acres and I'd like this to only last 1-2 hours since the ceremony is the following morning.

I will be driving a black Toyota Tacoma with a CSU sticker on the back. I should be easy to find!

There will be a funeral in Block 51 from 1-2 PM, we will be marking that section last so we don't intrude on the funeral.

At this time, I have not heard from Maine on when the wreaths will be delivered for unloading at Howe Mortuary. It could be as early as tomorrow, or as late as the morning of the ceremony. Obviously if the wreaths arrive Friday at 1 PM, I will send out an email and push grave marking earlier or later. Expect two more emails from me this week - 1 regarding wreath delivery & unloading and 1 regarding more ceremony details.
