In Ireland, particularly in the previous centuries, the rituals involved in preparing and burying the body were performed at home in a manner handed down for centuries. The Barrymore Funeral Parlor is looking for professional mourners! Prospective mourners will need to show how good they are at crying, screaming and wailing. Costumed position

A small doll in placed on a base with fortunes written on the top. Participants spin the doll and her cane points to the fortune based on the fates from The Girls Own Book (1834). Costumed position

Like apples and nus, pumpkins have a long, intertwined history with Halloween. This fortune game will decide the fate of the participant based on the ribbon they pull. Costumed position

An orange, apple, doughnut and wade of cotton are hung on strings from the ceiling. The visitor is blindfolded and spun. The first string/item they touch with their hand tells their fate. Costumed position

A tray has 7 stones lined up. 6 of them are the same kind, the seventh is the only different. The visitor is blindfold, the stones are shuffled and the visitor chooses a stone. The kind they pull tells the fortune based on if the stone is a same or different color. Costumed position

A deck of special tarot cards is used to tell fortunes. Costumed position

A bowl or random items (stones, shells, sticks, toys, etc..) which are collectively called "bones" are thrown onto a mat. The visitor's future is told based on how they land. Costumed position

Different cheeses are laid out and the visitor picks the one that "speaks" to them. Each cheese means something different. Costumed position

Visitors choose a domino from a bag, the number of pips on the domino depict the fortune. Costumed position

Costumed position. Tent guards wait outside of the fortune tents and let visitors enter to speak with the fortune teller. Also, manages the line and breaks.

The museum of Oddities is full of playful displays and "artifacts". the volunteers in the museum will be costumed and watch the gallery space and answer questions

Irv Washington Costumed position

Can be a costumed position. We are setting up a small hay bale maze in the village for young kids. the maze guards will keep a watch to make sure that the kids through the maze are doing alright and to offer a small prize for the finishers! Adult guardians of the kids will be asked to stay by the side of the maze at all times too.

This is an activity with a small charge to pay for the pumpkin. 5 lbs pumpkins are provided along with art materials to paint them with. Volunteers will help manage tables and painting supplies. T-shirt volunteer position.
