Discover the spooky side of Ohio History with Fright at the Museum! Celebrate the season with family-friendly activities for a frightful good time.

• Learn about Ohio's own creatures of the night, and how important they are to our ecosystem
• Step back in time with a midcentury monster mash at the Lustron House
• Explore the origins of American Halloween celebrations through time
• Weave a web of spooky stories with time travelling tales and storytelling games
• Learn how to make apple cider the old-fashioned way
• End the evening with a dance party on the red carpet!
Family-friendly costumes are encouraged. No adults wearing masks and no props in the shape of weapons, please.
Ohio History Connection member tickets go on sale Mon., Sept. 15. Nonmember tickets go on sale Mon., Sept. 22.
Join in on the 1950’s Halloween celebration in the Lustron House! Period appropriate dress/costumes are perfect for this occasion.
Monster Movie Magic Foley effects are movie sound effects created by using everyday objects. Volunteers who staff this station will help lead visitors through a couple classic horror movie scenes as they recreate foley effects.
Take on the role of a cryptozoologist and show visitors the history of unknown creatures from Ohio!
Community Ofrenda Ofrenda is Spanish for “offering”. Traditionally coincides with the Mexican holiday of Dia de los Muertos. It is an alter usually created by the family members of a person who has passed away. This station will be a place for people to add to our community ofrenda.
Soul Cakes & Old Fashion Fall Treats Soul Cakes are small, spiced treats that were traditionally made for Halloween/All Saints Day/All Souls Day. A practice with roots in Europe. This station will be ideal for volunteers with 1890’s clothing! All are welcome though.
If you are interested in getting in touch with your creative side, we got you covered! Crafts this year will be mask and crown making.
