We start the spring season with a regatta right in San Francisco. It is novice only, but as of late January, we may add some select varsity in the afternoon.
Pacific Rowing Club, 1 Harding Rd, San Francisco, CA, United States - Lake Merced
As always, volunteer time slots are subject to change based on race day schedules.
Unload the LGRC Trailer,
Set up tents and tables
Set up grills
Put up LGRC signs on tents
Attach tent sides if needed
Hang Clothing Hooks for bags
Prep breakfast/snacks and oversee fueling our athletes for the morning. Clean up as you go.
Make sure the event runs smoothly and answer questions. Make sure all volunteers get to go cheer their athletes. One volunteer MUST have experience working regattas and have a good handle on what needs to be done to run a smooth regatta. The second may be a new parent to shadow the experienced parent.
Prep lunch and oversee fueling our athletes for the afternoon. Clean up lunch after all rowers have finished racing and eating.
Thoroughly clean up everything. Break down tables, tents, etc. Load trailer. (Nothing dirty may be put in the trailer, please).
Take home all dirty dishes, wash them, and return them to the boathouse the following practice.
Purchase supplies (from provided shopping list) at Costco during the week before the event. Note the list will be different/longer this year. Please be prepared to front the cost of the shop and be reimbursed. Deliver food to regatta or coordinate to have it go up with the trailer.
Load the trailer at the boathouse. In the shed there is a laminated instruction sheet of what to pack. Items include storage bins, tables, easy-ups, etc. Time is flexible.
Unload Bins from Trailer and return to Storage bin at Boathouse
