Oyster Reef Restoration

Join BHI Conservancy staff at the Village Creek Access on Federal Road to help build oyster reefs in Bald Head Creek from bagged shells. Please wear closed-toe shoes (SCUBA booties or old sneakers are best) and bring or wear protective gloves if you have them. We will need bag movers, kayakers, and people who don't mind getting wet and muddy.
9:30am - 11:00am
Oyster transport
Meet at Conservancy and move bagged oysters to Village Creek Access
11:00am - 1:00pm
Dry bag movers
On dry land, wear gloves to move oyster bags onto boats

Wet bag movers
Paddle out to the oyster reef site and help move bags of shells into place (need mud shoes)
