World Oceans Day Beach Clean-Up

Wednesday, June 08 2022

Marine debris is one of the greatest threats our ocean faces, but luckily it is an issue with which we can all play a part in the solution.

In partnership with volunteer organizations and individuals around the globe, the International Coastal Cleanup™ (ICC), founded by the Ocean Conservancy, engages people to remove trash from the world’s beaches and waterways. Since its beginning, over 16 million volunteers have collected more than 340 million pounds of trash.

Stop by the Conservancy to help pick up some trash and keep our beaches clean! Your efforts are greatly appreciated and will ensure a safer environment for our wildlife and residents on Bald Head Island! All trash collected will be categorized, weighed, and entered into the ICC database to determine areas of high marine pollution and determine actions to address these areas.
