Native Plant Divisions Workday

Friday, April 14 2023

One way to propagate native plants is by divisions. We'll learn a few techniques and divide and pot up some plants to grow for Wild Woods Restoration Project. You'll then know how to apply these same techniques to plants in your own garden.

ACTIVITY: We will walk through the woods on hiking trails to reach our wild population that we'll be dividing from, dig up plants, divide, replant and then pot up. We'll provide all the tools and supplies. Potted plants will be grown for Wild Woods Restoration Project and will remain at the event site. We may also be washing up some pots that are needed for potting up.

BRING: Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and dress for the weather. Bring garden gloves if you have them, if not, we have gloves to lend. Bring a lunch if you would like to enjoy a picnic in the woods before you leave.

WEATHER: This event is weather-dependent and will be cancelled or postponed in case of inclement weather. Registrants will be notified by noon the prior day if the event will be cancelled.

WHERE: Event will be outdoors in Salisbury Mills, NY (Orange Co.) - more details will be provided in the registration confirmation email.
There will be access to an indoor restroom.
