**About this event**
Come and get rejuvenated, doing meaningful, important work outdoors, surrounded by inspiring nature, art, bird songs, goats, and a beautiful community of like-minded folx! We'll be having lots of fun working with our hands on the farm and learning how to grow food and tend land along the way.
What will we be doing?
We're regularly working on a variety of tasks, including:
• Creating our food forest
• Removing "invasive" weeds
• Creating pathways and planting areas
• Building wood-berms for planting
• Cardboarding and woodchipping
• Planting
• Harvesting
• We have gloves, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and loppers for volunteers to use.
We have tasks for all skill and physical ability levels and are happy to work with any challenges or limitations you may have!
** We generally ask all volunteers to arrive at the same start time, however, you can stay for however long you'd like! If you only have an hour to volunteer that's ok too! If you do need to arrive later, you can still register, but please text us at (503) 558-5453 and let us know!

**What should you bring?**
• Clothes you feel comfortable in. We recommend close-toed shoes and long-sleeve shirts.
• Weather / outdoor appropriate, warm clothing you don't mind getting dirty. In the rainy season, the farm can be muddy, and sometimes it might also rain, so come prepared!
• Warm hat or sun hat if needed
• Gardening gloves (though we have plenty at the farm if you don't have any!)
• Water
• A snack if you'd like
• Yourself!
**Is there a bathroom at the farm?**
The farm sits on 1.5 acres of donated land on a larger property. The owners have been kind enough to allow us to use one of the house bathrooms for the farm. Please take off your shoes when going in the house.

**What is Kindness Farm?**
Kindness Farm is a first generation immigrant, refugee, & queer led nonprofit urban farm in SE Portland.
Focusing on working with historically underserved communities (Low-income, Houseless, LGBTQIA2S+, Immigrant, Refugee, & BIPOC) we:
• Teach folx how to grow food using sustainable, regenerative methods that heal the Earth & build resilient community
• Provide produce for underserved community members in need
• Build a vibrant, supportive community
Our impact since inception (2 years):
• Provided produce for over 30,000 meals & produce boxes to over 5000 individuals
• Provided education for over 1200 individuals
• Built community with over 10,000 volunteer hours
We believe that Kindness is the most natural instinct in all of us to take care of each other, and our planet; which is distorted by a world that forces us to choose our survival over helping others. We are powered by community-mined volunteers & interns, large groups, and two leaders!
