Learning English helps refugees and immigrants navigate life in Rochester more independently. It can open doors for new job opportunities, education, and friendships! We are partnering with OACES, “the premier adult training and education center in the greater Rochester area,” to provide additional English conversations that will augment their Monday-Thursday ESL classes.

The class officially starts at 4:30, but our conversation partners are often needed closer to 5pm, so if you are not able to arrive until 5, that is fine. If you are interested in working with the children, then an earlier arrival is appreciated.

Whenever possible, please register at least 2-3 days before the time you plan to volunteer!

Goal: To help refugees and immigrants learn English so that they are better able to navigate life and opportunities in America.
