Work Permit Clinic - Esperanza Immigrants Rights Project Catholic Charities

Friday, February 18 2022

Esperanza is hosting its first Work Permit Clinic of the year, on February 18, from 1-5pm PT.

The purpose of this virtual one-day clinic is to assist unrepresented immigrants apply for an employment authorization document (EAD). Our program has identified qualifying immigrants, and our goal is to match them with law students and volunteer attorneys that can help them complete their i-765 form (application for EAD). The clinic will be fully remote. We will send a recorded training and sample materials in advance, and will host a 1 hour Q&A session prior to the clinic for any questions volunteers may have. This will be followed by the official clinic where we will assign immigrants with legal volunteers (and interpreters, when needed) to work on the forms. Our team will supervise by joining your zoom rooms, making sure everything is clear.

For questions or to RSVP, please reach out to Carlos Valdes at CValdes@ccharities.org.

Please note, for UCLA Law summer funding purposes, the time spent in training counts toward your pro bono requirement.
