Wauconda Community Emergency Response Team

WPD and WFD are recruiting CERT volunteers as role players for an active shooter exercise at Wauconda High School. Details to follow.

Parking for CERT Volunteers will be in the Wauconda Fest lot directly across Main Street from the High School.

Traffic control at High School entrance & Main (Braxton), High School exit & Main (Danny), High School rear exit & Minerva (Joe).
* 6:45 AM, Meet at High School building main entrance for briefing & radios. In position by 7:00 AM.
* CERT Uniform: Shirt, khaki pants, hat, safety vest, wand, water recommended, medical kit recommended. Dress for the weather.
* There will be a CSO also, and two Officers working the road.
* 4 Radios to be issued, 3 for traffic, 1 for Jeff Louis. Set to WPD MAIN WPD DTL-1.

Role Players:
* 6:45 AM, Meet at High School building main entrance, then we'll walk to Auxiliary Gym 1 which will be CERT Central for the duration.
* 7:00 - 8:30 AM, Briefings and preparation for your role.
* 8:30 AM, Scenarios start, 2 are planned back to back.
* Wear comfortable civilian clothes that you can get dirty. No CERT equipment or apparel. No weapons or sprays of any kind.
