Earth Day Garden Clean Up - Turf Grass Removal, YAY!

We're cleaning up the gardens to get ready for summer! Sign up to help in celebration of Earth Day. We had a great show of volunteers earlier. Now there's one more BIG thing to tackle. Could you help us out? Come anytime in the day or sign up for a shift during the supported hours.
Garden area on south side of building near air conditioning units:
• Dig out turf grass
• Clear grass and dirt away from steel edging
General considerations:
• Wear sturdy shoes and long socks
• Spray legs with tick repellent
• Leave the dead leaves in the garden. It doesn't look as pretty but it's great for the soil and for the insects.
• Put all organic waste in a pile at the northwest corner of the parking lot (marked with orange construction cones and orange tape)
Please bring gloves and your own garden tools. Due to the ongoing presence of COVID-19, please follow physical distancing guidelines and wear a mask if you have to work near another volunteer.
