DNR special work party at Walker Valley

Saturday, March 09 2024

The DNR is seeking experienced volunteers to rally around supporting the NMA Ladies Work Party that will be held on Sunday the 10th. Due to equipment issues and a recent injury, the DNR was unable to move the necessary supplies into place for this event.

On Saturday March 9th, volunteers led by DNR employee Brigan Cooper will be moving grid block, cinder blocks, gravel, rebar and timber from Peter Burns Road up the trail to the project site. This will involve utilizing toters, moving heavy objects and hand shoveling gravel into toters. Please spread the message and RSVP to Brigan.

Meet at the North Trailhead at 0900. Folks will sign in, get PPE, a safety meeting will be conducted and then head off to the job site.

Please note that this work requires physical exertion on rough terrain and the use of hand or power tools in any weather conditions. Therefore, we kindly request that only those who are physically able and comfortable with this type of work participate.

What to Bring

Personal medications or other needs that may be specific to you.
