DNR led work party at Reiter Foothills - Saturday October 11, 2025

Saturday, October 11 2025

Meet at 9:00 a.m. in the dirt bike/quad staging area (upper parking lot). The plan is to begin clearing out the connecting road/trail from the soon-to-be-finished new parking lot down below up to Langley Lane. The connector road was cut in a while ago, so there are significant amounts of shrubs, small trees, and grasses to be removed from the surface. We want to leave the root systems intact to mitigate erosion. Therefore, we won’t pull these things out by the roots if possible, and instead use weed whackers, pruners, hedge trimmers etc., to mow down the veg as close to the surface as possible.

For those that can, please bring a weed whacker, hedge trimmer, pruners or similar and gloves. If anyone favors a scythe or machete, feel free! Be prepared for wet weather. Our base case is working 9-11am, but for those that want to volunteer longer Brandon is happy to continue working with you. Please bring water and snacks suited to your metabolism!
