Planet New Canaan is a local community group bringing awareness to environmental issues facing New Canaan and the broader world.

We will organize Christmas Tree recycling to help New Canaan residents keep its trees out of landfills. New Canaan residents are encouraged to drop Christmas trees, free of lights and decorations, at the Waveny Pool parking lot. The trees collected will be mulched and the mulch spread on the New Canaan Nature Center trails. There is no charge for dropping a tree. Wreaths and garlands cannot be accepted.

SLOBs volunteers should dress warmly, wear gloves and please bring a reusable mug for hot chocolate so we can cut down on trash.
